Odd Combo?

The Queens of the Stone Age and The Cramps will be playing together at the Greek Theatre on Halloween. Is it just me or does this strike you as an odd combo?

Apparently the QOTSA are big Cramps fans. I say the Cramps are fans of the almighty dollar. I am on the Official Cramps list - staysick@yahoogroups.com - and this topic has been dissected for several weeks now.

I'll be skipping the show. I don't even have the slightest idea who the Queens are, but it sounds slightly like a Neanderthal burlesque troupe.

QOTSA is a slightly altered version on Kyuss, who I acutally used to like. I don't much care for QOTSA myself: Their vocals are waaay too diminutive & wussy compared to the instrumentation (= pretty damn boring). They were on Jay Leno last week....

The Cramps played Minneapolis this past spring for $13 a pop. I paid $60+ (for 2 tix) to see them at the undersized & overcrowded Key Club last Halloween. Grrrr!!!! There are many things I love about So Cal, but the markup on tickets isn't one of them.
