Light A Match, For I Deserve To Burn- The Beautiful Mistake
Riverside
based band,
The Beautiful Mistake, just released a new full length. The album,
Light A Match For I Deserve To Burn, hits hard and straight to the point
just like the band's lyrics. What is behind this band and this new album
title? Christian beliefs. From "Salvation came and brought me in"
to "God, I want to see you on the inside" are just some of the
lyrics that profess these
beliefs. Along with other Riverside bands such as Falling Cycle and Sinai
Beach, The Beautiful Mistake is another band in the slew of up and coming
Christian bands hitting it hard in the music scene. Besides these Christian
beliefs exists an extremely talented group of guys playing melodic chords
and bursting out hardcore screams.
I recently saw The Beautiful Mistake play at Sounds Like in Riverside.
They rocked the small record store. The place was packed out for the free
record release party. The band played an intense show while making their
audience think. During their set, the band talked about third world debt
and jubileeusa.org. Jubilee USA is a network working to stop world debt.
The crowd fell silent when the band strongly informed the crowd of this
important issue. The band
spoke seriously of this world issue just as they speak strongly in their
lyrics about their beliefs.
Combining incredible talent and solid beliefs, The Beautiful Mistake
stands as one of the top melodic hardcore bands and in my opinion is the
top.
On a scale of 1-10, I give The Beautiful Mistake a 10 for their CD and
a 9 for their live performances. If you like Thursday, old Keepsake, or
Thrice, this is a band for you.
