Barflies.net One Pin team has made the "A" League play offs! We bowl in the finals at 1pm today. Come on down and cheer for us.

My primary memory last year was being so sick with a headcold and the flu that I couldn't drink, couldn't eat, and couldn't remember much besides going to the Right Aid with Lucky to get kleenex and DayQuil and shopping for Sandra's wedding dress on the last day. I don't remember bowling! I am not even sure how I drove home, but I do know I was in bed for two days afterward! And not from partying!
This picture was taken Friday night when the full force of my sickness hadn't yet hit me. I was on cold medicine and not drinking. These fellows were luckier than I was.

Is it just my car's stereo or has LA Radio gone all wrong? Practically every station is playing Elton John and Billy Joel all the time. Ok.
And it is not just the usual suspects of KEARTH 101.1, but JACK 93.1, KLOS 95.5 (!?!?!?!?!?!? WTF???), and KOLA 99.9....
Dear Music Programmers, please only play Elton John, Billy Joel and Fleetwood Mac once very 2-3 hours. Please intersperse with other artists and bands.

Every now and then a TV broadcaster uses his power for good, and this Wednesday, Jay Leno will be doing just that. Mindy Smith, the Americana Music Association's 2004 Emerging Artist of the Year, will be featured on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," performing "Please Stay," from her sophomore CD Long Island Shores. A wonderful song, and a great album from a very promising artist.
